[Vision2020] Wilson's Expanded 'Intolerista' Definition (was Intolerista Slogans)

Thank you, Rose, for an excellent post. I don't have the time or patience to
keep up with the Blog Stalkers, so I appreciate when you & others make sure
those pertinent excrementitious & telling tidbits see the light of day.

religious discrimination. It must really sting that law-abiding, honorable,
Evangelical men are holding you accountable for your civil failure."

THANK YOU from one of the Nasty Nine <g> subset of the Intoleristas. While I
understand why folks asked, I was getting mighty tired of explaining that no, I
wasn't involved in the zoning complaint & didn't know any more about it than
what I'd read in the papers, on V2020, and in the City Code :-)

Of course, I'm not sure what constitutes an Intolerista. I mean, I *thought* I
knew the deceptive-but-facile thinking behind the particular Wilsonism, but
after you piqued my curiosity, I see from reading Pastor Wilson's monologue . .
. I mean, blog
(http://www.dougwils.com/index.asp?Action=Anchor&CategoryID=1&BlogID=748) that I
was all wrong. Hold the phone!!! It seems that Wilson's definition of an
'Intolerista' has morphed! In his typical bloated fashion, Wilson has now
expanded his definition to include *all* who dare to disagree *any* aspect of
that wolf in sheep's clothing worldview. There is no other explanation I can
fathom for Wilson's inclusion in his Intoleristas list the three Evangelical
Christians making the zoning complaint, men who undoubtedly have/had
spiritual/religious relationships with Christ Church and/or NSA complaint.

Ah, what a relief! Our nice little Intolerista group has just grown
exponentially since it now includes everyone from the far left to the far right
including many reactionaries :-) I extend my heartiest welcome to an estimated
99.99% of our community!

Does this mean the Intolerista flyer
(http://www.tomandrodna.com/notonthepalouse/images/intolerista.pdf) needs to be
updated?

patriarchal system, women serving in the military, the application of Mosaic law
as a fulfillment of God's plan etc.) are matters of grave concern to millions of
people world wide, not just a few local Intoleristas."

Amen!

I'm getting a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach: Wilson seems to be a
person who is all too quick to and gets far too much joy out of affixing
belittling names to many, many individuals & groups. I ask you: is this what
we need or expect from religious leaders? It's certainly *not* the kind of
thing I'm used to ministers doing, and I'd be looking for a new house of worship
if my minister had that much bitterness and hatred in her/his heart. Reading
through Wilson's blog, there is ton of shrill vitriol toward a variety of
targets. Indeed, it seems to me a fair amount is directed at his followers.
What's *with* that?!? Prolific name-calling is a form of emotional abuse that's
much more common in bullies and cults leaders than in genuine religious leaders,
IMO.

positioned in the heart of the central business zone? In fact, you and your
employees failed to secure the appropriate, legally required permits. Your
credibility continues to shrink as you try to shift the focus of the civil
complaint, repeat false accusations, and masquerade as the contemporary
reincarnation of William Tyndale."

Well, I won't be holding my breath for such an admission if Mr. Plaskon's review
of the matter confirms a problem, but I do think I may have solved part of the
mystery about why Doug doesn't see a zoning problem with NSA's location in the
CBD (Central Business District). Apparently Doug and his Dug-Up Douggies can't
grasp the difference between an *occupancy permit* and a *zoning certificate*.
On his blog, Wilson offers the fact that NSA was given an occupancy permit as
"proof" that NSA can be located downtown. However, as I read things with my
"public education," an occupancy permit is a very different thing than a zoning
certificate.

Of course, maybe I'm wrong, and it *is* also possible Wilson just doesn't get
it. But, it's also possible he's using his standard double-speak, which served
him will in the past, to try to confuse folks who might ask questions. Since
I've found him to be a person of reasonable intelligence, I suspect his attempt
to cloud the issue is disingenuous rather than the result of ignorance. It
seems to me Wilson's arrogance is again showing in a most unflattering way if he
assumes the rest of us are just too stupid to see his sleight of hand. That's
JMHO so I could well be wrong, and if I am, no one will have to wait until h*ll
freezes over for my admission of error.

Go for it. You probably have forgotten that Auntie Establishment preceded you
in that arena over a year ago. Her favorite (aside from the ever popular "The
Church of Auntie Establishment, Moscow's Other Cult") bumper sticker should
resonate with the thoughtful Saints of Christ Church and probably the majority
of the Fellowship of Grievance. Remember it? "You're Not The Boss Of Me."

What?!?!?! There's a "You're Not The Boss of Me" bumper sticker??? While I do
have one of those most empowering T-shirts *and* a "The Church of Auntie
Establishment, Moscow's Other Cult" bumper sticker, I do NOT have a "You're Not
The Boss of Me" bumper sticker <sniff, sniff>

1. "The Intolaristas have launched a new attack on us....."

Response: What do you mean by "us," Doug? Do you have a mouse in your pocket?
We know that rank and file members of your congregation had nothing to do with
getting (or not getting) the proper building, occupancy, and zoning permits. It
has always been your modus operandi to pretend that community disagreements with
you are extended to a generalized attack on the members of your church. You
should be down on your knees tomorrow morning in front of the Saints begging
their pardon for spreading dissent and unhappiness in Moscow which is rooted and
has grown and spread because of your hubris and ill considered sense of
entitlement.

Neither I, nor my Intolerista colleagues were involved in bringing the zoning
complaint. We were not even aware of the issue until we read about it in the
newspaper. We know, and so do you, that you are making this erroneous and
unfounded claim in an effort to portray yourself as the embattled victim of
religious discrimination. It must really sting that law-abiding, honorable,
Evangelical men are holding you accountable for your civil failure.

2."This effrontery was too much for Rosemary Huskey, one of the chief whackadoos
in the CoFB (Coalition of the Fevered Brow), and so she wrote a letter to the
editor, proudly laying out the elements of the Intolerista Creed."

Response: Is the CoFB something like the FOG (Fellowship of Grievance)? The
FOG, an unpleasant little nickname you gave those within your own congregation
who bravely believed you should be accountable for your behavior, divided your
church. You know that the things that we are intolerant of (like your defense
of slavery, the place and expectations for women under a patriarchal system,
women serving in the military, the application of Mosaic law as a fulfillment of
God's plan etc.) are matters of grave concern to millions of people world wide,
not just a few local Intoleristas.

I am wondering Doug, when, if ever, you will admit that NSA is incorrectly
positioned in the heart of the central business zone? In fact, you and your
employees failed to secure the appropriate, legally required permits. Your
credibility continues to shrink as you try to shift the focus of the civil
complaint,
repeat false accusations, and masquerade as the contemporary reincarnation of
William Tyndale. (Grandiosity is a beguiling path, Doug, but it generally leads
to a disagreeable destination. Real friends would seek to turn your steps from
this unhappy route.)

If I had your best interests at heart, as presumably your elders do, I'd advise
you to think of ways to avoid additional and unnecessary loss of face. For
instance, why not renew your search for a piece of land upon which to build the
medieval cathedral and cathedral close of your dreams? That should keep you
busy for awhile. The sale of NSA might help to fund your little city on a hill.

As for your bumper-sticker notion, it's a splendid idea, Doug! It will deflect
congregational thought from your current misadventure with those silly zoning
laws, and would provide lots of witty moments at the Head of Household meetings.

As some of you know, a week or so ago, the Intoleristas launched a new attack on
us here in Moscow. <snip>
