A free meal of soup and bread, combined with a discussion of the impact
of budget problems at the University of Idaho, will be provided at the
public meeting of the Moscow Civic Association on Monday, May 10, at
7:30 PM at the 1912 Building in Moscow.
The Moscow Civic Association is providing the Soup Kitchen as an
expression of concern for the effects of program cuts on University of
Idaho faculty and staff, and the impact of those cuts on the economic
vitality of this region.
Soup and bread will be provided free of charge to all who attend, with
special invitation to U of I faculty and staff, but also to all
concerned citizens and MCA members. Participants are invited to bring
their favorite chipped or battered bowl from which to significantly eat
their Soup Kitchen provisions. However, silverware and disposable bowls
will be provided.
Nick Gier, University of Idaho professor emeritus, will give a brief
presentation on the program cuts and their effects on students, faculty,
staff, and community. Discussion will follow.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a Soup Kitchen meal and learn more about
the financial situation at the University of Idaho. More information is
available at the MCA website at <moscowcivic.org>.
