Here's a little trick to filter your mail in Outlook Express 6 (and
probably 5). Follow the instructions and you'll soon be filtering your
email like a superstar:<br><br>
1. Open Outlook Express <br>
2. Make sure the Folders list can be seen on the left-hand panel.

3. Right-click on "Local Folders" and select "New
Folder...". <br>
4. Give this folder a descriptive name like Incoming or Direct.
<br>
5. Click on "Tools" in the top menu bar. <br>
6. Select "Message Rules" and click on
"Mail...". <br>
7. Click on "New..." to create a new message rule. <br>
8. Under box 1, select the first entry "Where the From line
contains people". <br>
9. Under box 2, select the first entry "Move it to the
specified folder". <br>
10. Under box 3, click on "people". <br>
11. In the window that pops up, type in your e-mail address. So,
blah@yourdomain.com<br>
12. Click OK <br>
13. Click "specified" in box 4. <br>
14. Select the folder we created in step 4 above. Click OK. <br>
15. In box 4, rename this rule to something more pleasing like
"Sneaky Only-for-Me Filter" or "l33t m41L h4Ck" or
perhaps the prosaic "Direct delivery filter". <br>
16. Click OK. <br>
17. Click OK. Or, click the name of the rule and Apply Now to filter
right away.<br><br>
From now on, mail that is being sent directly to you and not someone
else, as is common with much of the spam coming in, will be filtered to
the one mailbox. You'll get a few spam messages to that box, but probably
far fewer overall.<br><br>
