All:

Edna gave me permission, I think, to post a "private" reply to the V2020
list, so I decided this post might at least offer idle amusement, if nothing else.
The subject heading is changed to suit the content.

Ted

Edna:

First off, you addressed yours truly, Ted, as Mr. Hansen, at the top of your
reply. No, Tom Hansen is NOT posing as Ted Moffett, nor vice versa, as far as
I know, though with my penchant for fantasy and dream ... never mind. Things
could get very complicated with all the possible alter egos on V2020 posting
at once. Luckily we are mostly boringly tied to our accepted social
identities, though I rather lack a fully respectable one, which is quite deliberate on
my part.

V2020 is a public forum, unmoderated, and even Stambler made not a dent in
the still free for all status of V2020, amazing as that is, with the threats of
lawsuits and violence associated with his antics, though many gave up on the
list after his numerous riotous ravings. If we had 10, 20, 30... Stamblers
though, V2020 might implode.

I like the mystery of an anonymous thinker trying to probe the minds of
cyberspace intellects. I almost offered the speculation in an earlier message to
Edna that Edna is Douglas Wilson, and deleted that sentence, realizing I was
posing as a bit too psychic for my own comfort, even though being psychic
appears at times to be a gift I possess. At that point I did not care who Edna was,
an alter ego of Wilson, or an old women who studied philosophy long ago and,
hidden away somewhere on the Palouse, suddenly went public. You'd be amazed
at some of the characters out there in the sticks who are mostly off the radar!

I bet I am right though that Edna is a devout Christian in the strong sense,
as I indicated earlier.

Your exchanges with Wayne Fox are between the two of you, of course, so what
I think concerning this matter is ultimately irrelevant, though I did predict
some of Wayne's responses to your queries quite accurately.

Yours in the free exchange of ideas,

Ted, a card carrying member of the ACLU (not really, saying this just seemed
to fit the moment, though I do like the ACLU for the most part)
