Personally, for me, Doug, and I suspect for many others, the answers to your
questions are No and No.

Racial animosity = racism

An egalitarian may act in a malicious manner--certainly--he/she may kick
his/her dog; may throw trash out the window.  Doesn't change the
"egalitarian" attitude.

A racist may act in a benevolent manner--he/she may send flowers to someone
in the hospital; help an elder person across the street.  Doesn't change the
"racist" attitude.
