This will be my only response on this topic. I have not read the message
from John Wilmerding, nor do I intend to do so, but I must say I am not
surprised. Mr. Wilmerding was removed from the board of directors of our
organization working on restorative justice after a prolonged period of
behavior that showed disregard for the values of restorative justice.
Regrettably that behavior continues and reinforces our decision to end al=

association with him. =0D

Over the past year Mr. Wilmerding has engaged in a campaign of harassment=
,
approaching stalking, against myself and other members of the board. Duri=
ng
this time we have received numerous unsolicited incidents detailing how t=
his
is a recurring a problem with those who have attempted to work with him i=
n
the past. We attempted to seek a resolution to this problem through the
Religious Society of Friends and received a sympathetic ear ,but were tol=
d
this was "a long standing and unchanging problem." One of the national
leaders in restorative justice has suggested, "we will know restorative
justice has reached maturity when we can find a restorative solution for
John Wilmerding."=0D

The message John sent is truly about himself and the lengths that he will=
go
to avoid addressing some very serious issues. He feels he has been
mistreated by many in the work of restorative justice, and to be very hon=
est
that is more sad than it is anything else. One of our board members
suggested that John needs to learn to be for something rather than agains=
t
everything. Hopefully that day will come, and if it does he could return =
to
a place of doing good work. =0D

As for myself, I admit that I have made mistakes in my past. Interestingl=
y
enough that is a large part of what brought me to restorative justice, as=
I
know how the system does work in a very personal way. I have been blessed
and widely accepted in many doors in the restorative justice community
