MessageWell, they're held on city property (public parks) so it becomes a
matter of public policy. The Ren Fair Board rejected asking for alcohol
sales in 1990 on the grounds that "fair board members are attempting to
increase emphasis on children's and family activities at the fair and
alcohol just wouldn't have any place." I think that was the last time the
city council thought about taking up the issue of alcohol in the parks. When
the subject came up about Rendevous having a beer garden a few yearsago, it
never got to Council because the public reaction was so negative.

The City has no business regulating who/what/where/when/why businesses are
selling beer and wine at these events.
Best,
Dale

Mike,
I live near the park, and I'd like beer and wine to be available for
both events.
Dale, does your opposition to city regulation mean that you would favor
the regulated sale of beer and wine at both events? Or do you want
unregulated sales? Or no sales?
Sunil
