The city and the Idaho Transportation Department apparently worked out
some kind of resolution to the traffic problem posed by Third Street
between Jefferson and Almon streets. While I have never considered the
traffic in this area to be a problem, I concede that others might
consider the new configuration to be pleasurable. Also, having lived in
this area for more than 25 years, I have yet to see the ITD do something
right the first, or second, time.
Is this new configuration really better than the old? If large trucks
are the problem, wasn't the current bypass with the north and south
couplets supposed to solve this? Weren't large trucks supposed to avoid
the center of town?
My vote is to put it back!
John
