Dear Visionaries:
The method of inquiry pursued by those who profess to be enlightened and =
adherents to the concept of universal human rights continues to baffle =
me. You publish a rumor, whether malicious or benign, and then demand =
that the subject of the rumor fill you in.
But aside from all the assumptions loaded into Rose's question, this =
rumor offers some good fodder for discussion which fits right in with =
this forum's purpose.
Let's do a thought experiment. Let's say for the sake of the thought =
experiment that Christ Church or a member of Christ Church (I assume =
that is what Rose meant) buys the David's building. Would that be a net =
gain for the local culture, or a net loss? Granted, you would lose wet =
t-shirt contests, drag shows, and country night. But you might gain a =
place of worship or education, or maybe even an art gallery or a good =
steak & ale house. Which is better? Why?
Cheers,
Gregory C. Dickison

Subject: [Vision2020] Latah Rumors
Dear Nate Wilson,
What a thoughtful reply to a serious question - I had hoped that =
someone from your faith community would respond and quell the rumor, if =
rumor it was. Oh, I get it, you were making a joke. Call me =
humorless, but religious slurs, even those about Christ Church, never =
seem very funny to me. =20

[Rose's first message - ]
Dear Visionaries,
Dame Rumor travels slowly down highway 8, and I don't subscribe to the =
Daily News so I my be repeating old news but I hope some of you may be =
able to respond to my questions. Is it true that Doug Wilson, or an =
affiliated Christ Church business has recently purchased the old David's =
building - (I think it is called Beaches now)? If so, what plans have =
been made for it? What are the ramifications for taxes? Will the taxes =
of other down town business go up as a consequence? =20
Thank you
Rose Huskey=20
