Dear Committee Members,
Looking forward to the fall committee meeting in San Francisco, I need volunteers for three roles at the meeting:

  *   I need a volunteer to serve as secretary for the meeting.  Any takers?
  *   I would like someone to lead a short discussion about CCA 202233014 concerning the denial of both the estate tax charitable and marital deduction where a unitrust payment could be made to charity or the surviving spouse.  This would be a great topic for a red dot or blue dot to get his/her feet wet.  Don't be shy!  Let me know if you would like to take on this topic.
  *   I would like someone to address the issues in DeMuth v. Commissioner (having to do with checks that were written but not cashed prior to the date of death).  Another readily accessible topic.  It would be great to hear from someone new on this common issue.  Any volunteers?
