[EstGift] Estate and Gift materials for Scottsdale

Dear Friends,

I look forward to seeing you next week in Scottsdale.  The official materials for our meeting will be posted and available as usual.  Knowing that you are an unusually eager and excited, if not excitable, group, I attach the Agenda and associated materials here for your review and analysis.

There could be complaints about the Agenda.  To-wit:

Why do I say "conundrums" rather than "conundra"? (Because "conundrums and preoccupations" sounded better to my ear.)

Why is there no direct discussion of estate tax reform, repeal, modification, etc.? (Because that's being addressed at other committees.)

Why isn't the most important development, issue, topic, in my practice, and (therefore) the entire world, being dealt with?  (Uhh ... because you didn't write and suggest we talk about it so I just didn't know.  Please tell me!)

Having said that, I am delighted with our Agenda and I hope you will be too.   I am particularly grateful to those who have agreed to help lead our discussions, and appreciate in advance those of you whose joining in make our committee meetings so thoughtful and lively.

We have a number of suggested topics and speakers for Seattle but now would be a fabulous time to send along your ideas and suggestions.  Our meeting will be on Saturday afternoon.

We will miss those of you who are unable to be with us this week but look forward to seeing you in Seattle.  Here's hoping that all of us who are coming have unremarkable travel experiences.
