[EstGift] Technical Comments on Legislation

Hello Committee Members - During our meeting in Los Angeles, Carol
Harrington suggested that our Committee consider submitting comments to
Congress on the "Thomas bill" (HR 5638 and now HR 5970).  Although after
last week's Senate vote, it seems unlikely that the Senate may bring up
HR 5970 (or a similar version) before the end of this year, that is not
impossible.   I propose that our Committee prepare comments on HR 5970
for submission to Congress on behalf of ACTEC.  I have asked Ron Aucutt
and Ron has agreed to lead this effort.  The purposes of this message
are to alert you of this project and seek volunteers.  Because we want
to move this along quickly, we will not need many volunteers.  Please
let me know if you are interested in working on this project.  Thanks.
